You made a good point about the two common things of the first adopted technologies. The new invention has to be fast, easy to use, access and grow. Governments always seems like a blind road blocker untill they finally see the needs from the market.
While the communication networks continuing, I think those spinoffs from some service-offers have already became their main revenue resource now. In my country, it’s almost free to get a cell phone and apply for a number to use. But they charge me almost double on text-message, music/vedio download, internet browse…etc.Yes, it’s more than just make up.
